IT Director

An IT Director is a hands-on technology leader responsible for general oversight of the corporate IT infrastructure architecture, provisioning, planning, installation, and monitoring. He/She implements and supports technologically advanced and rapidly growing computing environment for clinical information management. IT Director’s overall role is to manage EDETEK cloud computing design, implementation, and operations. EDETEK Cloud comprises of internal software development environments and a SaaS-based platform used by EDETEK product clients. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building large, scalable infrastructure, and is a creative thinker, problem solver, teacher and quick learner. IT Director supervises staff of EDETEK Cloud/IT engineers.


  • Ensure that corporate computing environments are designed, implemented and supported according to business and regulatory requirements
  • Work with corporate QA team to document and maintain processes and procedures according to industry and government standards (GxP, HIPAA)
  • Maintain proven technologies and processes to ensure data privacy (PHI, PII, PCI)
  • Collaborate with the architecture and engineering teams to research, design and test high performance and cost-effective cloud technologies
  • Ensure 24×7 availability of production environments
  • Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to the IT team
  • Manage global IT team (5-6 engineers) in the USA, Eastern Europe and Asia
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching
  • Automate infrastructure tasks and services wherever possible
  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions, APIs, databases, user interface of desired product
  • Develop high-level product design specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
  • Support of EDETEK internal users: computers, desktop software, network access, etc.
  • Develop and manage IT budget
  • Participate in Corporate Audits
  • Prepare environments for client initiated performance and security penetration testing
  • Participate in corporate operational and product development leadership meetings
  • Participate in client meetings


  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in corporate IT
  • Proven experience as an IT team leader in a regulated industry (Life Sciences preferred)
  • Hands on practical experience in AWS cloud architecture, design patterns and production implementations
  • Excellent knowledge of hardware, software, database and network services
  • Understanding of quality and information privacy requirements in regulated industries (Life Sciences preferred)
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
  • BS/BA in computer science, engineering, mathematics or relevant field


  • Demonstrated hands on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • AWS Certification in Operations and/or Security
  • Design of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows and network protocols
  • Understanding of architectural patterns to support horizontally scalable applications
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to clinical systems
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail
  • High quality organizational and leadership skills
  • Technical presentation skills and experience


  • Being able to work in the corporate office (Princeton, NJ) and home office remotely
  • The candidate must reside within one-hour commute distance from Princeton, NJ
  • Availability in early and late hours to participate in scheduled global online meetings over the Internet/Skype
